About Me
I am a St. Louis, Missouri-based freelance writer and editor. My past expeirence includes working as the senior content editor for True Blue Life Insurance, an account managing editor for Digital Press, a boutique content marketing firm, a content specialist for ClubReady, a gym management software company, and a regular contributor to Vox Magazine, a city magazine in Columbia, Missouri. I graduated from the University of Missouri in December 2015 with my Bachelor of Journalism and again in May 2017 with a Master of Arts in reviewing and reporting on arts and entertainment. In that time I also completed a thesis comparing the depiction of journalists in films from the 2010's to films from the 1970's, along with a feature story about 35mm film screenings at the local art house cinema.

Responsibilities: My role focused on collaborating with the company's CEO to create engaging content for the online life insurance agency's blog. This menat watching life insurance trends, customer search behavior, competitors' coverage to make sure we were providing the highest quality content that stayed in line with the company's voice. I also helped edit pieces submitted by freelancers and write company press releases, as needed.

Responsibilities: My role was essentially a combination of an account manager and an editor. I was responsible for corresponding with clients, defining and outlining the direction and tone of their content. I conducted weekly content calls and worked with a writer to craft an article that captured the clients voice. From there, I would review the article with the client until they were happy with it and publish it across their social media platforms, such as Quora, Medium, and LinkedIn.
ClubReady
Content Specialist
October 2017–February 2018
Responsibilities: I was responsible for writing, editing, and researching all of the blog content on ClubReady's homepage. These pieces primarily focused on trends in the fitness world that appealed to our audience of gym owner clients. I was also responsible for creating and deploying regular customer communications in MailChimp, as well as running the social media for GYM HQ, ClubReady's professional services division.

Responsibilities: I produced weekly content that either ran in the print edition of magazine or on the website as daily online content. My print stories included features about local ties to comic books, the Concerned Student 1950 protests and 35mm film at the local art house theater. My blogging consisted primarily of weekly television and film reviews.
